These little treats are Valentines for some deserving friends.

They turned out well and I am reminded again how very happy it makes me to have pretty gift tags, cheerful ribbons, and bright wrapping paper ready to make a pretty package.

December 18: Pretty Packages

I’ve been storing Christmas presents in JT’s room - on his bed, actually - and he comes home on Thursday so my wrapping operation shifted into high gear this past weekend.

I have a package tag collection that brings me as much happiness as the paper and the ribbons.

I like it all to match, of course.

December 4: Pretty Packages

I love to wrap presents and December offers plenty of opportunity for me to get out my paper and ribbons.  These packages are for T’s advent calendar.

Advent presents are mostly small treats; pretty packaging is part of what makes them especially lovely.

I enjoy all of the planning that goes into these gifts and wrapping them up for giving is the icing on the cake.

Christmas planning has headed into overdrive at Sassafras House.  Last night, I made two batches of cookies for my annual cookie day.  Every day, I find the time to wrap a package or two.

I love wrapping presents and making crafts and I keep a dresser with craft and wrapping supplies in my dining room.  T named it my Etsy cabinet and the name stuck.  Come Christmas time even the inestimable Etsy cabinet can’t keep up with my gift wrapping ambitions.  Christmas wrapping requires more paper, extra ribbons, and an entire basket of gift tags.

The supplies will stay here through Christmas Eve, making it easier for me to wrap packages whenever the mood strikes.  That’s happy!

I love wrapping presents and December is the present season.  I especially enjoy wrapping little presents with tiny treats inside.

It’s been a busy week and when I get time to write, I have some stories to tell.  But first, there’s a 4 class day to navigate, a colleague's baby shower to celebrate, a taco supper to cook, and who knows how many middle schoolers will make unwise choices today……..

My package wrapping supplies got reorganized and tidied in the aftermath of the refinished floor project.  That meant that I could easily find a purple ribbon when the boy made a request for me to wrap a package he intends to give to a certain young lady.

We are closing in on the big day and happily, I am nearly done with my wrapping. 

I don’t tire of this task and will be sorry to put away my wrapping supplies.  But Christmas is calling and a day of relaxation and gifts exchanged with the people I love does sound quite lovely.  Merry, merry!
