Signs of Our Continuing Decline

Earlier this week, the heads of a number of major corporations called on President Bush to take action to curb global warming. I'm all in favor of that, of course, because I am a good liberal. But it occurs to me that when our nation requires large, stolid corporations to take the lead on talking about tackling our problems, we're in really big trouble.
