A few months ago, I noticed this sign, conveniently located near the train tracks that head south through my fair town.
New Jersey has a lot to answer for (what? have you ever driven a car in this state?) and it's not clear to me that the Garden State needed to add low-rent divorce to the list. But I seem to be the only person around here worried about the state's karma.
Oh, New Jersey.

We have these same signs here. I love the "spouse's signature not needed." It;s seriously a pain in the ass to complete a divorce without the other spouse. Hell, when I worked for an attorney, we had a client whose hubby was an illegal immigrant to fled the country. She had to go through so many hoops, publishing a notice in a Mexican newspaper for 6 weeks at her own expense, publishing in the local paper for 6 weeks, sending letters to a bunch of his family members to see if they'd convince him to just give her a divorce. But I guess misleading advertising is the American way.
