Real Life Conversations that Reflect Poorly on Me

The scene: Morning commute to school. In New Jersey, which I believe pretty much says it all.

JT: Mama?

Me: Yes?

JT: I saw you show your middle finger to that car.

Me: Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.

JT: I think that you should have to give a quarter to the bowl for when we use curse words. You have to put a lot of money in there. I haven't had to put in any.

Me: Yes sir.

Better that he's learning the proper and appropriate usage of profanity, and not picking it up on the street. That would be totally un-Jerseyish.

Back in my nanny days the 4 year old reprimanded her father for calling someone a bad name while driving. Hence forth he used "peach pit" instead of that bad word. To this day (20 odd years later) I still occasionally call other drivers "peach pit".
